DNA Neutralizing Solution is used for the isolation of plasmid DNA by alkaline lysis method. Addition of the neutralization solution to lysed bacterial cells adjusts the pH, resulting in precipitation of protein and genomic DNA.
- Contains 1.5 M NaCl and 1.0 M Tris
- Filtered through a 0.22 µm membrane
- DNase tested
DNA Neutralizing solution is used to neutralize fractionated DNA contained in an electrophoresis gel after denaturation and prior to transfer to nitrocellulose or nylon membrane. During DNA isolation after lysis, DNA neutralizing solution is added causing the denatured genomic DNA to precipitate, while the circular, covalently closed plasmid DNA reanneals, remaining in solution.
